🌀 ZigZag Tricks
Sky Eggs
Worm Takeout
Nobody had ever seen a Vayloori
stay in one sky for long.
The clouds kept moving.
So did Vayloori.
One morning, a gray cloud
lowered a tiny staircase.
Vayloori climbed aboard.
The cloud was thick and
damp like a marshmallow
after swimming lessons.
Rain dripped through the floor
wearing tiny parachutes.
A puddle had somehow
followed them upstairs.
Nobody knew how.
Vayloori climbed higher.
At the top of the cloud,
it opened a little trapdoor.
The sky cracked an egg.
Sunshine poured in.
"Oh."
Vayloori climbed through.
Upstairs was warm as a biscuit
in a kangaroo pocket.
Someone had left sunglasses
on a lawn chair.
Vayloori put them on.
The sun didn't mention it.
A little farther along,
three socks and one mitten
were drying on a sunbeam.
The mitten was still damp.
Vayloori sat down for a sunny
snack of rainbow bananas.
The purple ones were crunchy.
Below, rain tapped on umbrellas
and worms ordered takeout.
Above, Vayloori finished it's snack.
The wind arrived.
"Where are we going?"
The cloud thought about it.
"Probably over there."
Its address changed immediately.
Vayloori held onto the lawn chair.
The sunglasses stayed on.
For a while, the cloud
rained upward.
Nobody mentioned it.
By afternoon, Vayloori tumbled
through another trapdoor
and landed beside a creature
painting stripes on a watermelon.
"Where have you been?"
Vayloori brushed a little cloud
off its knee.
"The sunny side."
Behind them, another cloud
lowered a staircase.
Vayloori looked up.
And climbed.
The moon smiled upside down.
The earth whispered, "Wheee."
And there are popsicles on
Thursdays.
Clouds move on
Sky stays weird
